Tweed was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on March 10, 1957. She was raised on a mink ranch in Whitbourne and is the daughter of mink rancher Donald Keith Tweed and Louise (née Wall) Tweed. She has three sisters, including actress Tracy Tweed, and is one of seven children overall.*
