In 2004, Bosworth made her television debut on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which aired in 2004 and followed her during her final year of high school. Alongside her best friend Lauren Conrad and old classmates Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari, she was highlighted. In the second season, she didn’t make many appearances.
Following the popularity of Laguna Beach, MTV created a spin-off series called The Hills, which followed Conrad and her friends—Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, and Audrina Patridge—as they lived in Los Angeles, California. Bosworth and Conrad did not get along throughout the first season of production; this was referenced in the show in passing as a disagreement sparked by their mutual friend Jen Bunney that lasted for almost two years. Following their reconciliation, Bosworth joined the supporting cast of The Hills for its second season, making his debut on the show on March 12, 2007.
August 13, 2007 marked the debut of the third season. During the season, Bosworth moved into a new house with Conrad and Audrina Patridge as housemates; however, Patridge soon moved into her own apartment. On August 18, 2008, the fourth season debuted. In that season, Conrad and Bosworth got a dog they called Chloe. Throughout the season, Bosworth also gave cameras a closer look at her personal life and job. On April 6, 2009, the first part of the fifth season debuted. On May 31, 2009, Conrad made her last appearance on the show at the nuptials of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. On September 29, 2009, the second half of the season debuted. Kristin Cavallari, a previous castmate from Laguna Beach, was brought in to replace Conrad.
April 27, 2010, marked the debut of the sixth and final season. Bosworth joined the main cast for the season, despite reports that he wouldn’t be back after the fifth season. In addition to moving in with her boyfriend, Scott, she was seen coping with stress at work. The show came to an end on July 13, 2010.

The Lo Down by Lo Bosworth is a website that Bosworth started in 2010. Her same-titled book was published in January 2011 as well. Bosworth launched her own beauty YouTube channel at the end of 2013, and it has quickly expanded.

Bosworth first enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara before moving on to UCLA, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in art history in June 2008.
