Following his release from prison and recovery from an automobile accident in 2006, Cassidy started recording B.A.R.S. The Barry Adrian Reese Story, his third studio album. Cassidy had a party to celebrate the release of his mixtape Mayhem Music on May 21, 2012. He dropped the mixtape Mayhem Music: AP3 on July 8, 2012. Following Meek Mill, a fellow Philadelphia rapper, declaring he would take on Cassidy, the latter stated he would agree if the offer was appropriate. Following their “twitter beef,” Cassidy published “The Diary of a Hustla,” which was initially interpreted as a jab at Meek. Cassidy later disputed this. Each of them was requesting $100,000 in order for the fight to happen.
However, Cassidy released a song called “Me, Myself & iPhone” in which he took digs at Meek Mill following Meek Mill’s disdain of his song “Condom Style,” which was a replica of Psy’s “Gangnam Style.” In response, Meek Mill released the diss track “Repo,” which he subsequently declared would be his last diss release against Cassidy. Later, Cassidy said that the rivalry was just in the hip-hop culture and that it was not personal. Cassidy responded with a 10-minute-long diss track called “Raid” on January 6, 2013. Cassidy released his album Da Science on October 6.
Other ventures
Cassidy earned a contract to serve as the “new face” of Lot 29’s autumn apparel collection in 2007.* Cassidy made an appearance in the comedic film Next Day Air in 2009.
Late in 2012, Cassidy reworked “Gangnam Style,” the worldwide famous song by South Korean musician Psy, and called it “Condom Style.” Cassidy apparently signed a Trojan endorsement agreement as a result of the remake.

Cassidy Personal life
Murder case
Three males, AR-Ab and Cassidy among them, opened fire on three unarmed individuals on April 15, 2005, after an altercation in the West Oak Lane neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia, using handguns and an AK-47 assault rifle. A bullet to the back killed Desmond Hawkins. The other two buddies of Hawkins received bullet wound treatment in hospitals before being let go.
On June 9, a warrant for Cassidy’s arrest was issued on the grounds of aggravated assault, conspiracy, weapons possession, murder, and attempted murder. On June 17, Cassidy turned himself in to the Philadelphia police in the afternoon. He was denied bail during his arraignment on Saturday, June 18, and was sent to the high-security Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility in Philadelphia, where he would serve his time both during the trial and following his sentencing.
The main witness in Cassidy’s murder case changed course after he recanted his statement. The judge then declared that Cassidy will be put on trial for third-degree murder as a result. Municipal Judge Marsha Neifield decided on August 16, 2005, that there was enough evidence for prosecutors to prosecute Cassidy with attempted murder, third-degree murder, and firearms charges. Later on, this was reversed to the original first-degree charge, which eliminated any chance of parole. Due to his involvement in the shooting, Cassidy was found guilty on January 25, 2006, of two counts of aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter, and possession of an instrument of crime. He received credit for the seven months he had previously served toward his sentence of 11 to 23 months in prison plus probation.
On March 2, 2006, Cassidy was released from the eight-month Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania.
In the 2011 film Rhyme and Punishment, which chronicles several hip-hop artists who have served time in county jails or state or federal prisons, Cassidy discusses his arrest and imprisonment.
Car wreck
On the evening of October 5, 2006, Cassidy was riding in his SUV when it collided with a commercial truck, causing serious injuries to him. After being brought to the Jersey City Medical Center, it was determined that he had multiple shattered bones on the left side of his face in addition to a cracked skull. He still bears obvious wounds from the collision.
“I was in a coma for about seven or eight days,” he stated. “After that, they put me into a medicated coma to prevent me from being traumatized by what I had gone through if I woke up. I suffered amnesia when I first came out of my coma, so I wasn’t able to fully recall everything. I could still recall some things even if my amnesia wasn’t complete. My mother and my son—people you grow up knowing incredibly well—were the only ones I truly knew.
Even though I couldn’t initially recall any of their experiences, I was aware of their names. I was unable to recall any of my raps or the songs I performed, such as “Hotel” and “I’m a Hustla.” According to the doctor, I had transient rather than permanent brain injury. Thus, he continued, “Your brain will take time to heal, just as it does for your body to heal.”
