Employment and Labour Graduate Internship Programmes

To welcome qualified applicants to apply for the Unemployment Insurance Fund Graduate Internship Program for the Financial Years 2022/2023 to 2024, the Department of Employment and Labor is extending an invitation to qualified applicants to submit an application. In order to provide graduates with job experience in their fields of study, the Graduate Program was established. To be considered, applicants must be unemployed, have never participated in an internship program, and be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.

A foreign qualification must be supported by an evaluation certificate issued by the South African Qualifications Authority if you hold a qualification from another country (SAQA).

All candidates for SMS positions who have been shortlisted will be subjected to a technical competency exercise, the logistics of which will be notified by the Department, with the goal of testing relevant technical elements of the position. Following the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will nominate candidates to participate in a generic managerial skills assessment utilizing the DPSA SMS competency assessment instruments, which are mandated by the government of South Africa. The successful candidate will be required to sign an Internship performance agreement at the conclusion of the internship.
